Previously, the 3008 has been spied completely undisguised, inside and out and most recently as a long-wheel-base 7-passenger version. Back in September the 3008 was previewed as the Prologue Concept at the 2008 Paris Motor Show.

Peugeot has released very few details so far but says the vehicle straddles the line between SUV, MPV and hatchback. Apparently it also goes against laws that say tall vehicles can't offer any driving pleasure.

Powering the 3008 are two engines listed as one 2.0-litre HDi turbo diesel and one 1.6-litre petrol turbo. There may be a bigger engine joining the range at a later stage. Said powerplants are complimented by new and old safety technologies such as Dynamic Roll Control and Grip Control.

Manufacturing for the 3008 is at Peugeot's Sochaux plant in Eastern France.
