The interior of the 407 Coupé is clearly in line with the spirit of contemporary grand touring. It can generously accommodate 4 adult passengers on "separate" seats. With a habitable length of 1.72 m (5.8 cm more than the 406 Coupé), and an elbow width of 1.542 m in the front seats and 1.234 m in the rear, passengers will enjoy a comfortable amount of space. The driving position has numerous adjustments and can thus be perfectly adapted to tall people. The slightly raised rectangular boot has a capacity of 400 litres. In the rear, the central armrest can make way for ski storage. The 2.8m2 of glazed surface area and the forward-positioned windscreen pleasantly accentuate the feeling of space inside.
To reinforce this opulent impression, you can purchase the full leather trim option to cover the seats and fascia panel.

As for equipment, the 407 Coupé has front and rear parking sensors, automatic climate control, an onboard computer, fog lamps and 17-inch alloy wheels... But options also include directional headlamps, laminated windows for better soundproofing, and a navigation system using CD-ROM format... The front head restraints, equipped with a locking system, are active, as in other 407s, in order to protect passengers from whiplash.
At entry level, the 407 Coupé is available with a 2,230 cc four-cylinder petrol engine developing 160 hp. The diesel version, the twin turbo 2.7-litre V6 HDI, is a little 2,720 cc bomb which delivers 205 hp! Originally designed in partnership with Ford, this unit debuted in the S-Type Jaguar (Ford group) before being used in the new Land Rover Discovery, Peugeot 607 and Jaguar XJ limousine...
All of these high-powered engines are equipped with a particle filter (FAP) and mated to an automatic 6-speed gearbox with auto-adaptive Porsche Tiptronic sequential control.
With the 407 Coupé, at prices from €25,000 (approx. £16,830), Peugeot aims to compete directly with the BMW 3 Series Coupé and Mercedes CLK, by placing the emphasis on excellent value for money.
